Community Guidelines – Respect Guidelines
Welcome to Pax Travel Tweaks. If you’ve landed here, chances are you care about maintaining a kind, supportive community as much as we do. And honestly, we wish we didn’t have to write this page. We’d rather be mapping scenic stopovers, reviewing travel gear, or highlighting hidden gems for your next escape. But instead, here we are — because somewhere along the way, a few careless comments or thoughtless interactions reminded us that respect is something we can’t just assume. We have to ask for it… and protect it.
Founded by Zyphara Ollvain in Detroit, Michigan, Pax Travel Tweaks was born out of obsession — a passion for smart travel, for changing the way we think about routes and gear, for sharing stories that help global explorers feel inspired and equipped. But the real heart of Pax is its people — readers, tinkerers, and adventurers who keep this platform humming. That’s why respectful engagement matters. Because without it, we lose the spark that made this space special in the first place.
Why We Created These Guidelines
In a perfect world, we wouldn’t need to spell it out — but let’s be honest: the internet isn’t always a perfect world. We believe that every reader, commenter, contributor, and lurker deserves to feel safe and supported. That means setting clear expectations for how we share and communicate.
This community welcomes discussions on destination highlights, digs into flight-saving hacks, reviews travel gear thoroughly, retools packing routines through packing optimization tricks, and prompts meaningful exchange. But when conversations stop being respectful and constructive—when comments become dismissive, entitled, or mean-spirited—we lose something vital.
Our Community’s Foundation
We value good ideas, real stories, and genuine feedback. But above all, we value people. Our core principles are these:
- Kindness isn’t optional. Without it, creativity dries up, trust fades, and nobody feels like posting about what worked (or didn’t work) for them.
- Accountability strengthens community. When you misstep, own it. When others do, remind them gently.
- Integrity keeps the conversation real. Share honestly. Pretending expertise or misrepresenting sources just muddies the water for folks trying to plan smart.
- Respect beats ego, every time. You don’t have to like someone’s travel method or gear choice. But you do have to treat them decently.
If you’re unsure whether your comment is useful or kind, check in with yourself. If your thoughts would wound rather than help, hit “delete” instead of “send.” It’s that simple—and honestly, that hard.
How to Show Up Here
This space isn’t for perfect travelers. It’s for curious ones, tired ones, last-minute-booking ones, and “what’s-the-best-carry-on” ones. The people who show up here are looking to learn, laugh, launch ideas. You can be bold and brilliant and question the status quo—but do it graciously. Start from a place of respect. If you’re commenting on someone’s itinerary idea, tips on travel essentials, or their review of a luggage brand, ask yourself: “Am I making this conversation better or worse?”
Tips on helpful engagement:
- Respond to the idea, not the person.
- Avoid sarcasm or snark, even if it’s meant playfully — tone goes missing in text.
- Celebrate contributions. Whether it’s someone’s first post or fiftieth, that effort deserves credit.
- Link to articles when referencing ideas or sources, like our pages on booking strategies or planning tech tools. It shows transparency and helps others dig deeper.
Zero Tolerance Behaviors
We hate having to say this. It should be obvious. But for clarity’s sake:
- No hate speech. No harassment. No personal attacks.
- No spam, phishing, impersonation, or irrelevant promotions.
- No off-topic rants or trolling for reaction.
- No abuse — even under the guise of “debate.”
Violation of these principles may result in content being removed, accounts being paused, or access being permanently revoked. It pains us to moderate, but we will. Because everyone deserves space to share without fear. Moderation isn’t censorship. It’s community care.
Credit, Sharing, and Trust
We love when our readers share what they’ve found here — it means the knowledge is useful. But please don’t copy/paste paragraphs from our in-depth guides on packing organization or summaries of our gear reviews without credit. Share wisely — reference the right links, quote creators properly, respect what people worked to research and write.

Privacy and Boundaries
We can’t state this firmly enough: protect your info. Protect others’ info. Do not post—or ask others to post—emails, addresses, passports, bookings, or any private details. That includes screenshots of private messages or emails without permission.
Take a few minutes to read our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Terms of Service. We’re committed to transparency and privacy protection, but it requires participation—from all of us.
Moderation and Reporting
If you see something that seems off—mean-spirited, unsafe, or inappropriate—please report it. We hate that reporting is necessary, but we respect the guts it often takes to file one. Reach us quietly via [email protected]. Everything is read. Every concern is reviewed with integrity, and we aim for fairness above all.

Our Founder’s Intention
Zyphara Ollvain didn’t just launch Pax Travel Tweaks because she loved booking the cheapest transatlantic flights or testing wheelie carry-ons in downtown Detroit (though, let’s be honest—she really does). She built this platform because she believes better travel starts with better knowledge—and better knowledge starts with safe, welcoming conversations. Zyphara’s values still shape everything we do today. Learn more about her journey and vision at Meet Founder.

One Last Word
We wish this page didn’t have to exist. We’d much rather spend our time planning itineraries and plotting out routes than deleting mean comments. But if you’re reading this, our guess is that you’re one of the good ones. The kind that reads before posting. The kind that answers questions thoughtfully. The kind that believes we can make online community feel a little more human again.
So thank you—for every kind correction, every helpful reply, and every reminder that respect isn’t just a rule. It’s a relationship we build, together. Travel better. Talk better. Be better.
